The following was written by political prisoner, Behrouz Javid-Tehrani about inhumane and Medieval sentences of lashing and it's now published for use by "Human rights and democracy activists of Iran". They have started carrying out lashing sentences again after a few years of moratorium in order to create fear among people.

The content of the letter:
"On the morning of Wednesday Nov 10, 2010 they announced my name in the loudspeakers of our ward where they asked me to wear proper clothes for the carrying out of my sentence. Then while the head of "Sentence Implementation Unit", Hossein Akharian was watching I was lashed 74 times for the crime of disturbing public peace.
This was a verdict for a sit-in protest in front of the U.N. building; a protest without any slogans and in complete silence. I do not intend to get into the details of how and why this sentence has been carried out against me after all this time! But the essence of this sentence is about torture, humiliation, barbaric and inhumane. No freedom loving person can accept this sentence in his good conscious: Not now and not ever. I wish for a day when these types of barbaric and primitive sentences become something of the past in our country. I wish for a day when high standard laws are put in place according to human rights charter where no political prisoner spends an hour in jail.

متن زیر که توسط زندانی سیاسی بهروز جاوید طهرانی در مورد اجرای حکم ضد بشری و قرون وسطایی شلاق نوشته شده برای انتشار در اختیار "فعالین حقوق بشر و دمکراسی در ایران" قرار گرفته است. اجرای حکم ضد بشری شلاق که چند سال است در مورد زندانیان سیاسی متوقف شده بود دوباره برای ایجاد رعب و وحشت در بین مردم آن را به اجرا آورده اند. متن نوشته به قرار زیر می باشد: صبح چهارشنبه 19 آبان این هفته بلندگوی بند اسم من را صدا زد تا با لباس مرتب به اجرای احکام بروم در آنجا با حضور رئیس اجرای احکام حسن آخریان ما را به جرم بر هم زدن نظم و آرامش عمومی که به خاطرش به حبس و شلاق محکوم شده بودم 74 ضربه شلاق زدند .حکمی که مربوط به تحصن در مقابل سازمان ملل صادر شده بود.تحصنی بدون شعار و در کمال سکوت و بطور نشسته نمی خواهم اکنون به تفسیر و تعبیر این ... بپردازم که چرا اینک و به چه کیفیتی این حکم در مورد من اجرا شد بلکه مهمتر اینکه گذشت از نوع اتهامی که به خاطرش محکوم به شلاق گردیده بودم .نفس این مجازات مصداق بارز شکنجه ،تحقیر آمیز، وحشیانه و غیر انسانی است و وجدان هیچ انسانی آزاده ای نه در حال و نه در گذشته و نه آینده اینگونه مجازاتها را بر نمی تابد .آرزوی روزی را دارم که قوانین کشور ما مبرا از اینگونه مجازاتهای بدوی و بربری گردیده و قوانینی مبتنی بر استانداردهای بالای حقوق بشری وضع گردد و دیگر هیچ زندانی سیاسی حتی یک ساعت هم در زندان بسر نبرد
